IRVING, Texas – This should sound familiar by now:
Murray earned the nomination for his 29-carry, 115-yard, one-touchdown performance on Sunday in Seattle, and he now has four nominations on the year. Fans can vote for him at NFL.com/FedEx, and they clearly have been – a week this week would give him four wins in four tries. He also won the Ground portion of the award for his big games in Week 2, Week 4 and Week 5.
The Cowboys’ feature back is currently the NFL’s rushing leader by quite a comfortable margin. He has 785 yards on 159 carries through six games. The league’s No. 2 rusher, Pittsburgh’s Le’Veon Bell, trails him by 243 yards.
This week’s Air nominees are Baltimore’s Joe Flacco, New England’s Tom Brady and Indianapolis’ Andrew Luck.
But Murray isn’t the only Cowboy earning nominations for his heroics in Seattle.
Williams made a fully-extended, toe-tapping catch on the Cowboys’ sideline for a 23-yard gain, preserving the go-ahead touchdown drive in the fourth quarter.
Williams is going against Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers, who led the Packers on a game-winning touchdown drive in the dying moments against Miami, and San Diego’s Branden Oliver, whose one-yard rushing touchdown capped the Chargers’ 10-point rally to defeat Oakland.
